How cute are these simple tuxedo pigtail bows? Now... Let's make some!
Before we start... oh my was it hard to get this cute model to give me a good shot! Can you tell?
Okay... back on topic.. :)
What you will need:
- Hot Glue Gun
- Embroidery Thread
- 1.5" Grosgrain ribbon (Check out Ribbon Queen)
- 3/8" Grosgrain ribbon
- Lined Alligator clip(s) (<click for tutorial)
- Embellishments (optional)
Cut your 1.5" ribbon to 6" and heat seal.
Fold your ribbon in half and crease by pinching the fold.
See that pretty crease?
Now take each end and fold it to the center.
Press your needle through the top of the ribbon through all three layers (middle and each end that has been folded in)
Use this guide to stitch your need through your ribbon. *be sure you go through each layer... both fold ends and center of the strip.
Pull, wrap your thread around, tie off your thread and cut.
Repeat for your second bow.
Run a line of glue down your lined alligator clip and place on the back of the bow.
Glue your 3/8" ribbon onto the clip with a light overhang.
Wrap the 3/8" ribbon around the center and glue to the back, under the clip.
HOW CUTE RIGHT????
Now you can leave these as is or add some cute embellishments, like I did. Get creative and have fun!
